Description

This 24-year-old woman wanted to improve the appearance of her labia and decrease their size. She has had insecurities from the size of the labia, and felt self-conscious about perceived excessive labial tissue.  She also had discomfort in her labia with running and working out. The patient reported feeling like she was always adjusting her labia to get comfortable, and had discomfort in her labia with running and working out.  She reported first researching labiaplasty 9 years before getting treatment.

Our expert staff diagnosed this patient with redundant labia minora tissue, an asymmetric clitoral hood, redundant right external clitoral hood, and redundant left internal clitoral prepuce.  We treated this young woman with bilateral or both-sided wedge labiaplasty, right external clitoral hood reduction, and left clitoral prepuce reduction.  She performed her treatment in the comfort and privacy of our office, with the patient awake and relaxed with the help of by-mouth relaxing medications and laughing gas.

The patient is shown 6 weeks after her treatment, with a great outcome and excellent healing progress.  She is very pleased with her results, and says she feels more comfortable and pleasantly surprised at her easy and uncomplicated recovery.

About Surgical Labiaplasty

Enlarged or uneven labia minora (the inner lips of tissue surrounding the vaginal opening) are effectively treated with the common (though uncommonly discussed) procedure called labiaplasty.  For most women, the labia minora are for the most part covered by the labia majora (outer lips).  In others, however, genetics, puberty, aging and pregnancy can cause the inner lips to extend beyond the outer lips.  Some women can experience discomfort and irritation with overly long labia minora, leading to discomfort in clothing, during exercise, and with sexual relationships, while other women may just be bothered by the appearance of the labia.  Labiaplasty treatments can address these concerns. We have expertise in both surgical and non-surgical labiaplasty to help women feel their most confident and address any intimate anatomy concerns.Learn More About Surgical Labiaplasty
