Jeuveau

Jeuveau® is an injectable muscle-relaxing medication FDA-approved for the cosmetic treatment of frown lines (or the “11” lines or so-called glabellar lines). Dr. Fishman uses Jeuveau® for this indication, as well as a variety of other uses.

Jeuveau® is very similar to Botox®, both in its chemical structure and effect. Dr. Fishman uses and enjoys both of these medications in her practice.

BENEFITS OF JEUVEAU® TREATMENT
Cosmetic Jeuveau® treatment is a minimally uncomfortable procedure that is a powerful tool to rebalance facial features, smooth lines, decrease excessive sweating, treat bruxism or tooth grinding, and slim the face and jawline

Regular use of Jeuveau® may prevent lines and smooth out lines already present on the face

JEUVEAU®: TREATMENT DETAILS
During Jeuveau® treatment, Dr. Fishman injects the targeted muscles–the frowning muscles between the eyebrows, for example–with a small amount of Jeuveau® delivered via a tiny needle. The Jeuveau® medication does not work right away, and usually requires 2-4 days to start showing its effects of muscle relaxation and subsequent wrinkle relaxation.

IS JEUVEAU® SAFE?
Jevueau® has undergone extensive testing and is FDA approved for the treatment of frown lines in the United States. It is also approved for the same indication in Canada.

DOES JEUVEAU® HURT?
Dr. Fishman uses a tiny needle to deliver Jeuveau®, resulting in minimal discomfort. Both she and her patients describe Jeuveau® treatments as varying from “nothing” to a “tiny bee sting,” and to decrease discomfort further, Dr. Fishman sometimes uses cold compresses, a topical numbing medication, a vibration distraction device, and ProNox (laughing gas) during Jeuveau® treatments.

WHAT ARE THE SIDE EFFECTS AND RISKS OF JEUVEAU®?
The most common side effects of Jeuveau® include temporary redness, swelling, and mild tenderness at the injection sites, though most patients are able to return to their daily routine within 15 minutes of injection without much evidence of treatment. Some patients report a headache the day after treatment. Rare risks include a drooping eyelid or heavy forehead; these are temporary, and usually resolve before the remainder of the Jeuveau® treatment wears off.
