Description

This 22-year-old woman disliked the appearance and feel of her inner labia (folds of skin around the vaginal opening) and had a previous labiaplasty; this surgery helped her improve the discomfort of excessive tissue getting caught in clothing and with exercise.  While the patient appreciated her improved comfort, she wanted to improve the appearance of her labia and clitoral hood further by reducing their volume.  She didn’t like seeing a too-full clitoral hood when looking down at her pelvis, and wanted to make the inner labia slightly more contoured and slim.

We treated her with a revision bilateral (both-sided) labiaplasty and clitoral hood reduction to take away the excessive clitoral hood and recontour and thin the inner labia.  Our young patient is shown immediately after her revision surgery, with a beautiful result and moderate swelling already in place.  As she heals over the next few weeks, she will continue to notice a thinner appearance to the inner labia and clitoral hood skin.  Our patient had her treatment awake and relaxed in the comfort and privacy of our clinic, and was thrilled to see her results immediately after surgery.

While labia and vaginas come in a wide array of shapes and appearances, some women feel uncomfortable with too-long or stretched or asymmetric labial tissues, and want this improved after puberty, weight changes, pregnancy, or childbirth.  We frequently combine labiaplasty procedures with clitoral hood reduction, growth factor injections for improved sensitivity and sexual health, and vaginal rejuvenation to achieve optimal intimate health for our patients.

About Surgical Labiaplasty

Enlarged or uneven labia minora (the inner lips of tissue surrounding the vaginal opening) are effectively treated with the common (though uncommonly discussed) procedure called labiaplasty.  For most women, the labia minora are for the most part covered by the labia majora (outer lips).  In others, however, genetics, puberty, aging and pregnancy can cause the inner lips to extend beyond the outer lips.  Some women can experience discomfort and irritation with overly long labia minora, leading to discomfort in clothing, during exercise, and with sexual relationships, while other women may just be bothered by the appearance of the labia.  Labiaplasty treatments can address these concerns. We have expertise in both surgical and non-surgical labiaplasty to help women feel their most confident and address any intimate anatomy concerns.Learn More About Surgical Labiaplasty
