This 40-year-old woman came to our practice with a desire to subtly reduce the shape and volume of her upper and lower lips. Our facial plastic surgeon Dr. Inessa Fishman discussed with her the risks and benefits of lip reduction surgery, and the patient wanted to proceed with this treatment.
Our patient is shown 6 weeks after surgery (and immediately after facial microneedling for acne scars; her skin looks red and shiny because of this) with beautiful results and excellent healing.  She is also shown here immediately after her lip reduction procdure, with significant swelling present due to surgery and injected numbing medicine. Her incisions are carefully placed along the inner border of the upper and lower lips, for best scar camouflage. Her swelling will gradually subside over the coming months after surgery, and the lips will take shape over the course of 6-12 months post-operatively.
Our patient had her surgery in the comfort of our bespoke clinic, with the help of by-mouth relaxing medications and injected numbing medicine. This affords many of our patients a shorter recovery and decreased treatment costs.
