Description

This 50-year-old woman presented with concerns about a visible bump on her right lateral forehead that had been slowly enlarging over approximately one year. The lesion was not tender and had never drained or become infected; however, she was understandably bothered by its appearance and the way it affected the smooth contour of her forehead.

Her history was notable for prior excision of a similar bump in 2018 with another physician. That earlier procedure left a visible scar on the right forehead over the area of concern. She reported no history of trauma to the region.

After careful evaluation and discussion of options, she elected to proceed with forehead osteoma removal with our facial plastic surgeon Dr. Inessa Fishman. Her procedure was performed in the comfort of our bespoke office setting, without the need for general anesthesia. With the use of by-mouth relaxing medication and precisely injected numbing medicine, our patient remained relaxed and comfortable throughout the treatment.

At 3 months after surgery, she is healing beautifully. Her forehead contour appears smooth and natural, and the surgical scar is meticulously concealed within the hair-bearing scalp for a discreet, elegant result. This patient was delighted to see a previously distracting feature become a distant memory, replaced by a refined, harmonious forehead appearance consistent with Aviva Plastic Surgery & Aesthetics’ commitment to natural-looking outcomes.
