The 66-year-old woman shown came to the Aviva Plastic Surgery practice interested in earlobe reduction. She felt her earlobes had stretched with time and heavy earring wear, and she wanted to improve their appearance.
Our Facial Plastic Surgeon Dr. Inessa Fishman treated the stretched earlobes with an earlobe reduction, also closing the too-low earlobe piercing at the same time. The patient had this minor surgical procedure performed with the help of injectable numbing medicine, and while awake; she is shown 2 months after the earlobe reduction and re-piercing.
Earlobe reduction is one of the most common small surgical procedures in our practice. A lot of patients have stretched or too-long earlobes from trauma, children pulling on earrings, inflammatory changes, or sleeping in earrings.
