Description
This 72-year-old man was referred by his Dermatologist to our practice to treat his forehead bump. He was bothered by the appearance of the bump just above his right brow, and has had this for ~1.5 year, noting it had developed after he accidentally struck his head while jogging. The patient denied tenderness, redness, drainage, headaches, or irritation of the bump.
Our facial plastic surgeon Dr. Inessa Fishman diagnosed the patient with a cyst (benign inclusion of skin cells under the skin), and removed the growth through a small incision in the patient’s naturally occurring forehead wrinkle so as to minimize visible scarring on his face. The patient had his surgery in the comfort of our clinic, while awake and numbed with injectable numbing medicine. He is shown 3 months after surgery, with a great outcome and a smooth forehead contour.
