Description
This 34-year-old woman came to our practice interested in the treatment of a bump on her left forehead. She has had this for several years; the bump has grown slowly. The bump was not tender, and did not drain or get infected; the patient was bothered by the appearance of the lesion. Our facial plastic surgeon Dr. Inessa Fishman diagnosed her with a lipoma (benign fatty growth), and removed the growth through a small incision in the patient’s scalp hair so as to minimize visible scarring on her face. The patient had her surgery in the comfort of our clinic, while awake and relaxed with by-mouth relaxing medications and laughing gas. She is shown 2.5 months after surgery, with a great outcome and a much more smooth forehead contour. Her scar is well-healed and is difficult to find even with relatively early healing.
Forehead lipomas and osteomas are common at our practice, and patients travel out of state and the country to seek Dr. Fishman’s expertise and experience treating them. We aim for great outcomes, invisible scarring, and a wonderful experience in treating facial lipomas and osteomas at Aviva Plastic Surgery.
