Description
This 49-year-old man came to our practice interested in treating his forehead bump. He was bothered by the appearance of the bump on his right upper forehead, and has had this for ~2 year, noting it has been growing slowly after he hit his head on a garage door. The patient denied tenderness, redness, drainage, headaches, or irritation of the bump.
Our facial plastic surgeon Dr. Inessa Fishman diagnosed the patient with a lipoma (benign fatty growth), and removed the growth through a small incision in the patient’s scalp hair so as to minimize visible scarring on his face. The patient had his surgery in the comfort of our clinic, while awake and relaxed with by-mouth relaxing medications and laughing gas. He is shown 4 months after surgery, with a great outcome and a much more smooth forehead contour.
Forehead lipomas and osteomas are common at our practice, and patients travel out of state and the country to seek Dr. Fishman’s expertise and experience treating them. We aim for great outcomes, invisible scarring, and a wonderful experience in treating facial lipomas and osteomas at Aviva Plastic Surgery.
