Description
This 33-year-old woman was interested in treating a clear mole on her left nose. She has had this for years; it had not bled or caused pain, and our patient wanted to remove it for appearance concerns and to decrease her concerns about possible malignant transformation in the future.
Our Facial Plastic surgeon Dr. Inessa Fishman removed the mole via a procedure called shave biopsy, using both a scalpel blade and radiofrequency energy to remove the growth and minimize visible scarring on her face. The patient had her treatment in the comfort of our clinic, with the help of injected numbing medicine; her procedure took a total of approximately 15 minutes. She is shown 3 months after treatment, with a great outcome and a smooth, invisible scar. A small amount of hyperpigmentation (darkening of the skin at the biopsy site) will resolve over the next 4-6 months.
