Description

This 42-year-old woman came to our practice with the desire to improve her nasal appearance. She was bothered by what she felt was a too low and flat nasal bridge, and wanted to make her nasal tip more lifted, thinner, and more feminine.  These concerns are common in many patients of Hispanic, African-American, and Asian backgrounds, and usually require augmentation maneuvers common in the realm of ethnic rhinoplasty.

Our Facial Plastic Surgeon Dr. Inessa Fishman treated her with a combination of septoplasty and augmentation rhinoplasty, using cadaver rib cartilage to build up the height of her nasal bridge and support and shape her nasal tip.   Out patient is shown just 4 days after surgery, and already has a beautiful and elegant result.  Her nose, very swollen after surgery, shape will continue to refine and gain further definition as she continues to heal for the remainder of a year after her procedure.

About Rhinoplasty Procedure

Rhinoplasty is surgical reshaping of the nose, a treatment which permanently improves the nasal contours.  Concerns treated with rhinoplasty include an overly long or too-short nose, a bridge hump and a too-low nasal bridge, and a droopy or overly full or “ball-like” nasal tip.  A crooked nose or a nose with unsatisfactory changes after previous trauma or nose surgery is also treated with rhinoplasty.  Our facial plastic surgeon Dr. Inessa Fishman specializes in both preservation and piezo rhinoplasty, which both utilize advanced techniques for less post-operative bruising and swelling as well as natural, long-lasting results.  Dr. Fishman also performs traditional and revision rhinoplasty.  She commonly performs rhinoplasty surgery as a standalone procedure or in combination with a septoplasty or blepharoplasty.Learn More About Rhinoplasty
