This 59-year-old woman was bothered by her too-long appearance of her upper lip and lip wrinkles. She reported receiving regular upper face treatment along with occasional Botox lip flip, and had tried lip filler but did not love the results and also wanted to avoid the maintenance of ongoing injections. She did not feel she got significant and long-lasting improvement in her lip appearance with multiple treatments of lip filler since 2019. She wanted to improve the appearance of her lips and lower face both at rest and with smiling. Our expert facial plastic surgeon Dr. Inessa Fishman treated her with a bullhorn central upper lip lift, bilateral corner lip lift, lower lip advancement, and perioral fat grafting for overall smile rejuvenation. We performed this surgical procedure in the comfort of our office, with the help of by-mouth relaxing medications and injectable numbing medicine.
The patient is shown immediately after her upper lip lift corner lip lift, and lower lip advancement (and before fat grafting to the skin of the upper lip) with a beautiful outcome and excellent healing. She has a more open and sensuous appearance to her lips, and her mouth is now more balanced with her face. The red part of the upper and lower lips (where lipstick is normally applied) looks fuller after treatment, without the addition of fillers or volume. She will continue to heal and note a more natural, symmetric appearance over the next 6 months.
