Description
This 39-year-old woman traveled to us from a different state for lip balancing surgery. She was interested in improving the appearance of her upper lip, and was bothered by the appearance of a too-long philtrum (length of skin between the bottom of the nose and the upper lip curvature). She wanted the red part of the lip more turned out. Our patient had also reported ~4 syringes of filler to the upper and lower lips over the last few years.
Our facial plastic surgeon Dr. Inessa Fishman treated our patient with a bullhorn upper lip lift and corner lip lift surgery, performing these surgical procedures in the comfort of our office, with the help of by-mouth relaxing medications and injectable numbing medicine.
The patient is shown 6 weeks after her upper lip lift and corner lip lift surgery, with a beautiful and already more balanced outcome. Her upper lip is now more balance with her facial features and lower lip. The red part of the upper lip (where lipstick is normally applied) looks fuller after treatment, without the addition of fillers or volume. She will continue to heal, loose the pink appearance of her scars, and have softening of her incisions over the next 6-12 months.
