Description

This 52-year-old woman wanted to rejuvenate the appearance of her upper eyelids. She was bothered by the appearance of excess skin making her eyes look smaller and tired, and pursued upper blepharoplasty or eyelid lift surgery with our facial plastic surgeon Dr. Inessa Fishman.

Our patient is shown just 1.5 months after upper blepharoplasty/ lid lift surgery, and is already very pleased with her natural-appearing and elegant result.  She has a noticeable improvement in her overall facial appearance and eyes, and and shows excellent early healing.
Her results will continue to improve as swelling resolves and her incisions become less red and heal fully over the next 8-12 months.  Our patient is also shown here, 4 months after her upper eyelid surgery, with much more healed and less pink incisions that are almost invisible.

We frequently performed upper blepharoplasty or eyelid surgery by itself in the comfort of our office, with by-mouth relaxing medications and injected numbing medicine.  When performed in combination with brow lift surgery, or face and neck lift surgery, blepharoplasty is performed in the operating room with a deeper level of anesthesia.

About Blepharoplasty / Eyelid Surgery Procedure

Some individuals may have excess fat (“eye bags”) and skin at their upper and lower eyelids due to genetics or the aging process.  Blepharoplasty, or eyelid surgery, is a form of surgical facial rejuvenation that helps patients reduce the appearance of aging by removing and repositioning excess skin, muscle and fat from the eyelids.  Eyelid surgery helps patients enjoy a more youthful, alert appearance with a relatively minor treatment.  Our facial plastic surgeon Dr. Inessa Fishman commonly performs eyelid surgery as a standalone procedure, or in combination with rhinoplasty or facelift surgery.Learn More About Blepharoplasty / Eyelid Surgery
