This 37-year-old woman wanted to rejuvenate and balance the appearance and balance of her lower face and lips, and had “researched lip lift surgery for years.” She disliked what she saw as a too-long upper lip, and underwent liplift surgery with our Facial Plastic Surgeon Dr. Inessa Fishman. The central upper lip lift (also called a bullhorn lip lift) helps improve this patient’s smile, dental show, and facial balance.
Our patient is shown before and immediately after upper lip lift surgery. She has a noticeable improvement in her lip and facial balance, and shows excellent improvement in her facial and mouth balance. Her lip lift scar is perfectly placed within the natural crease under nose, and will heal to be essentially imperceptible.
Lip lift surgery is an excellent treatment for help improve facial balance and shorten an upper lip which commonly becomes longer and more heavy with age. Lip lift surgery by itself is most commonly an office-based surgical procedure in our practice; we also commonly combine with out facial rejuvenation treatments such as a facelift and blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery).
