This 35-year-old woman came to our practice interested in chin augmentation revision. She reported a silicone chin implant placed at a different practice when she lived in California approximately 10 years ago, and wanted to improve its appearance. She was bothered by her chin appearing flat and droopy, and wondered if the implant had slipped out of position.
Our Facial Plastic surgeon Dr. Inessa Fishman removed the previously placed silicone implant after noting it was not optimally positioned on a pre-treatment CT scan. Dr. Fishman placed a narrower and more projected (taller) silicone chin implant and performed deep structural neck contouring through the same chin incision to optimize the patient’s submentum (part of the neck just behind the chin). Our patient is shown just 1 month after her surgery, with a great outcome and invisible scarring that is well-hidden in the natural crease just under her chin. This beautiful and poised healthcare professional chose our practice for her procedure–and had her treatment just 2 months before her wedding!–and we couldn’t be more thrilled to see her beautiful outcome.
